Bearded Vulture

More commonly known by it’s German names Lammergeier (lamb vulture) or Ossifrage (bone breaker), the Bearded Vulture is a magnificent bird.
Though widespread across Southern Europe, across Turkey, in the high mountains of Iran, East Africa, Central Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Tibet and the Caucasus. My only sightings were in Mongolia. Where on the very first time I saw it, accompanied by the high excitement of my husband and Bayandorj Lkhagvadorj of Nomads Adventure Tours, a beautiful adult flew down towards and then alongside us!

A few days later we saw some more high in the sky as is typical of most sightings.
