African jacana
The jacanas (sometimes referred to as Jesus birds or lily trotters) are found in the tropical regions around the world. The African Jacana is from Central and southern Africa. It is one of the larger jacanas with a highly unusually polyandrous mating system, meaning that one female mates with multiple males and the male alone cares for the chicks.
