Alexandrine Parakeet

Named after Alexander the Great, who transported numerous birds from Punjab to various European and Mediterranean countries and regions, where they were prized processions, the Alexandrine parakeet has established feral populations in along the entire belt from India to Turkey and in Hong Kong. Mostly living alongside the rose-ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri) much as found naturally in India.
